Some of the essential qualities we seek in the research and recruitment firms we use are:

- a deep knowledge of the legal market at the highest level which translates into a top quality research document for us to use in assisting our decision making process;

- a feeling of trust because we must make them inside to confidential and sensitive information about our firm and because the senior lawyers to whom they talk are likely to be initially reticent about discussing their futures and plans;

- excellent communication skills because that firm will be representing us and needs to enthuse and charm potential candidates with our vision and plans which can be hard to do from a cold call:

- determination because the road is hard and long.

We have worked with Jonathan Glass and Michelle Aldridge of Glass Consultancy for a number of years because we have found exactly those attributes in them but, for selfish and defensive reasons, will not be recommending them to anyone else!
