Associated British Foods has sales and manufacturing operations across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and China. It was seeking a further Anti-trust specialist to join its skilled team.

This individual needed to be able to work autonomously, deputising for the head of the group when needed. Thus, the individual needed to be technically skilled, as well as able to manage and influence colleagues, external counsel and team members at all levels, up to and including divisional board.

As it was the stated preference of the head of the group that this individual come from Private Practice, we recommended a headhunting process rather than advertising. The EU/Antitrust groups in the Top 20 City firms were mapped and a short list drawn up.

As so often happens with search, the ideal individual was very quickly identified and we are delighted to state that this individual joined the company in February 2008.
