Topland, a privately owned property investment group, has built up an impressive portfolio of assets over the last few years. We were instructed to find a lawyer who would be their first in-house legal counsel. The role offered a broad remit of commercial work, covering a variety of legal areas including property, tax, employment and corporate law.

As this was the first legal position for Topland an open advertising campaign was organised. The company name created much interest as did the challenge of setting up the legal function for a strong industry player. The offer was made to a private practice candidate who was working for a leading London law firm and had a vast array of experience suited to Topland’s requirements.
