Our client, a US firm classed in the uppermost rankings of law firms, is looking to establish and build a Commercial Litigation practice in London. With more than half of the firm’s lawyers specialising in litigation, this practice area is a shining beacon within the firm and it is recognised as being one of the leading litigation firms in the world.

Our client plans on doubling its London office size over the next four years by strengthening and growing its core areas. There is the potential to build a practice within a firm which is committed to long term growth in London, where profitability is first rate, the reputation is second to none – the firm is often rated more highly than Magic Circle firms in certain sectors – and top drawer clients are instructing the firm on a regular basis.

Understanding of the litigation practice area is backed up within the management of the firm, with the London office Managing Partner and the firm’s Lateral Hiring Chair both being antitrust/competition litigation partners. The firm has had excellent successes building up other areas of practice in London over the last two years, all of which have had a litigation bias – intellectual property, competition, product liability, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Based on all of this, we are searching for an intelligent Commercial Litigation partner from either a US or UK firm to join our client’s London office. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and determined Litigation partner with experience of acting for major corporations, institutions and individuals in all manner of commercial litigation matters, including banking and financial services, fraud, asset tracing and general commercial disputes. Our client is looking for a leader with excellent technical and client-facing skills, and the drive to build a practice.
